Blastocyst transfer involves growing embryos in the laboratory for 5-6 days until they reach the blastocyst stage, rather than transferring on day 3. This allows better embryo selection and may improve implantation rates.
By culturing embryos to the blastocyst stage, embryologists can better assess embryo development and viability. Only embryos that successfully develop through this critical stage are selected for transfer.
