Frozen embryo transfer (FET) involves thawing and transferring embryos that were previously cryopreserved during an IVF cycle. This allows patients to attempt pregnancy without repeating the stimulation and egg retrieval process.
FET uses vitrification (rapid freezing) technology to preserve embryos at very low temperatures. When ready, embryos are carefully thawed and transferred to the uterus at the optimal time in the menstrual cycle.
